Background

Batman was officially retired from the Monster Jam lineup in 2014, after the license with DC Comics expired. The design was still a fan favorite, though, so Hot Wheels continued releasing the truck in various scales.

Packaging

At a glance, the 2015 package appears to be a carryover from 2014: same straight front panel, "dirt" base, and blue backdrop with the yellow and black "Off-Road" banner with the black stripe. But physically it is much more closely related to the older design, with a folded base with holes for the wheels and a separate slot for the back panel. Mattel has also updated the Bat symbol on the packaging to match the one used on the truck.

Casting/Paint

Casting and paint are identical to 2014, including the copyright stamp. If it wasn't for the updated packaging with its updated copyright, there'd be no indication this was released in a different year.

Features/Accessories

No change from the previous release.

Accuracy

Still no change, though it would be the last year for this mold.

Overall

I have a feeling that this year was supposed to see the release of the 2016 mold, but production was delayed somewhere so Mattel simply repopped the 2014 truck in the new box.
