When MotorMax dropped their new C8 diecast in mid-2020, the first one I saw (and hence, picked up) was a Torch Red coupe. I wasn't sure exactly what the plan was for it at the time, but with the number of Corvettes I've built and collected, I knew it would have a purpose sooner or later. It turned out to be "sooner," as Walker County's new single, Drag it Out, dropped a couple months later with Ivy Dene playing chicken in a C8 for the music video.

The biggest difference between the diecast and the Corvette used in the video was the red interior trim. I disassembled the car, did a little cleanup, then shot the seats TS-85 Bright Mica Red over gray primer and finished with a light mist of Dullcote. It was similar to the technique I used for the seats in the Ford v. Ferrari 330, and has become my favorite way to simulate red leather interiors.

Other work went into removing the black from the rockers, adding the silver lips to the wheels, tracing the panel lines, blackening the exhaust tips, and doing some touch-up to the black used around the windows and side intakes. The car in the video had no license plate, so I left it off here as well.
