They Can't All be Winners

Some kits are truly great: the detailing is excellent, the parts fit is superb, and it manages to strike the right balance between challenge and reward. Some kits are terrible: the casting is soft, nothing fits together, and the only way to make something halfway decent out of it is to do a lot of scratchbuilding and customization. Most kits fall somewhere between those two extremes.
There's one other type of kit that defies this continuum, however, one often referred to as the "3-footer." These kits usually have one or more major flaws that prevent them from being "good," but not so many problems that they're truly "bad." Perhaps the kit has a major flaw with one of the body contours, but it assembles so nicely that correcting the problem would take the enjoyment out of the build. Or maybe the stance is wrong, but it still captures the "feel" of the subject if not the literal look of it. Whatever the reason, we build these kits and take no pains to correct any but the most easily fixed or egregious errors. Once they're finished, they look OK from three feet away...but we recommend against closer inspection.
Such is the case with the Lamborghini Jota from Circuit no Ōkami, a fun little kit that is not without its flaws.
