Probably the biggest problem I have as a builder is getting over my own procrastination. I'll get stuck on the anticipation of doing a particularly involved bit of custom work, and the whole project will stall until I force myself to do it (usually to discover that the task wasn't nearly as difficult as I thought it would be). Case in point: as I was building the truck used in From Russia with Love, it got put on hold no fewer than four times. First, I got stuck on modifying the hood from the kit's 1960 style to the movie's 1961 style. Next, I had to talk myself into redoing the chassis to the movie-accurate wheelbase. Then, everything sat for weeks while I worked out how to create the cargo box. Finally, it sat for several more weeks as I worked up filling said cargo box with flowers. Once I actually started working, the longest task took no more than a couple of hours...it was just the buildup that stretched this project across the better part of a year. If I could get myself to stop thinking and start building, I'd probably double my model output.
